Stainless Steel 409 is a ferritic alloy, comprising approximately 10.5-11.75% of chromium. Small proportions of carbon, manganese, and silicon are added. Excellent oxidation and corrosion resistance can be obtained under high temperature. Tensile strength ranges around 450-600 MPa. Moderate hardness has also been seen in Stainless Steel 409. SS 409 can endure durability at relatively affordable cost, thus eliminating the formation of scale.
