The Austenitic stainless steel 202 is a known grade for good strength, toughness, and resistance to corrosion. Typical composition of Stainless Steel 202 contains about 17-19% chromium, 4-6% nickel, and 0.15% max carbon. It also has manganese at about 7.5-10%, silicon, and trace amounts of other elements. It provides good oxidation and corrosion resistance in many environments; however, this is less expensive than other grades such as 304 due to a lower nickel content. The mechanical properties that characterize SS 202 include 520-720 MPa for tensile strength, 205 MPa as yield strength, and an elongation of between 40% and 50%, making it possible to be put to use on a wide-scale basis.

Stainless Steel 202 Hot Rolled Plates are available in thickness ranges starting from 4mm up to 150mm. The plates are rolled at high temperatures to give them more malleability and to easily form their shape.
