AWS Class E347-16 electrodes are primarily composed of 19-22% chromium, 8-12% nickel and 0.15% max carbon, with the addition of manganese, silicon and iron. These electrodes are designed for welding stainless steels like 18-8 and 18-10 alloys. Mechanical properties include high tensile strength (70,000-85,000 psi), excellent weldability and resistance to intergranular corrosion and oxidation. Their advantages include high corrosion resistance, good weldability in high-temperature environments, and suitability for applications in power generation, chemical processing and heat exchangers.
