Stainless Steel 316L Stud Bolts consist of iron that is dominated by chromium at 16-18%, nickel at 10-14%, and molybdenum at 2-3%. It is highly resistant to corrosion. Low carbon ensures weldability without the precipitation of carbides. Mechanical properties are tensile strength of 485-620 MPa, yield strength of 170 MPa, and elongation of 40%. Advantages include excellent resistance towards pitting, crevice corrosion and stress corrosion cracking, and, therefore, finds good applications in corrosive environments such as chemical, marine, and offshore applications.
